The spring snow goose season brought snow goose hunting mainstream. Before 1999, very few people hunted snow geese. Most hunter pass or jump shot them; how things have changed in the last 20+ years. Today it is not hard to find countless snow goose spreads near large staging areas. One to two thousand decoys is the norm. Headless make up the majority of the decoys in these spreads.
What will set you apart from all of the others?
We like being different by having decoys with color. The headless decoy breakdown in our spreads starts with 10% Juvy snow goose decoys, 25% blue geese, and 65% snow geese.
Why do I like juvy and blue decoys?
Often enough, we get snow during the spring season. White decoys on the snow-covered ground are not very visible. We have had many very successful hunts in the snow. We feel that the juvy snow and blue decoys had much to do with getting snow geese to see us in the white landscape.
Juvy snow goose decoy bodies are remarkable. The greys and browns we pulled out of the artwork make an attractive decoy. We always use a full-color process on Tyvek®. The dimensions of the body are 12″ W X 19″ L, with three drain holes allowing moisture out.
Our juvy snow geese come standard with BackBone Supports™. This support, made from no-break plastic, is superior to any other “support.”
Stake Options: All headless decoys have three stake options: 1/4″ fiberglass stakes (either 24″ or 36″ long) or 3/16 stainless steel stakes (24″ long). The tall stakes (36″) height can help break up the laydown blinds, hunters on backboards, or pit openings. All fiberglass stakes come with black push-nut tops.
Compact: One hundred and fifty assembled headless goose decoys fit into our Deadly Decoys® windsock bag (sold separately). They are a super-easy way to move with the snow geese.
